The Grand Mesa is a beautiful area where you can hunt, fish, boat, horseback ride, camp and enjoy the solitude of the outdoors. The Grand Mesa, also known as the largest flat top mountain in the world, has over 300 lakes to fish and boat in. Winters on the Mesa, our very own Winter Wonderland, are filled with skiing, snow-mobiling, and ice-fishing. The Grand Mesa is covered in spruce and aspen trees, and gorgeous wildflowers in the Spring and Summer months. The Grand Mesa has 10 campgrounds. The breathtaking views and wonderful wildlife make this area a perfect detour off of the main highway. Cedaredge has its annual AppleFest Festival on the first full weekend in October. This event has been celebrated for over 100 years. The town of Cedaredge celebrates with an extra long weekend of food, music, and arts. There are booths that have everything you can imagine for sale. Enjoy Pioneer Town , a museum in Cedaredge that offers a 'trip back in time' with all of its many historical treasures from the past. Pioneer Town began in 1981 and is currently staffed by 85 volunteers per week. Guided tours are available daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day. While you are here attend a concert in the Cedaredge Chapel of the Cross . Cedaredge and Delta County offers many special events throughout the year, some of them include: The Little Britches Rodeo, Delterado Days, Delta PowWow, Golden Gala, Parade of Lights, International Sled Dog Races, Eckert Crane Days and many other wonderful and joyous activities. Cedaredge opened its very own skateboard park in the Summer of 2007. Again, we have visitors that come from all surrounding areas to visit our Great town of Cedaredge. Golf: Deercreek Village Golf Club is located in Cedaredge. People come from Hotchkiss, Delta, Paonia, Crawford and other surrounding areas to play on our unique 18 hole golf course. Delta is located South of Cedaredge and is about 20 minutes away. Delta has it own golf course, Devil's Thumb. Devil's Thumb golf course consists of more than 60 sand bunkers and 3 lakes. So if golfing is your sport, Cedaredge and Delta offer two great courses. Visit Our Surrounding Towns: Grand Junction is about an hour away from Cedaredge. Grand Junction has the largest shopping area on the Western Slope which includes the Mesa Mall and many other outdoor malls. Montrose is roughly about 50 minutes away from Cedaredge, there they have many wonderful places to eat, stores to shop in, and many mountain ranges to see. Montrose is full of fun and excitement in the month of August. Montrose County has the Olathe Sweet Corn Festival which invites thousands of visitors to enjoy a fun weekend of music, food, and a large amount of booths that sale products from all of the area. Ridgway, Ouray, Telluride, Aspen, Redstone, Silverton, Glenwood Springs and Gunnison are all wonderful places to visit during the summer and winter months and are within a few hours drive from Cedaredge.
